Ladies and gentlemen, Election Day is less than a month away.
Donald Trump, the Conservative nominee, is praised for his unique approach to American politics. He is well known for his hard stance on immigration reform and outspoken demeanor.
Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee, is a long-time advocate for children and women. She famously asserted that “women’s rights are human rights” at the Fourth World Conference on Women in 1995.
At this point, it isn’t about liberalism and conservatism anymore. It’s about right and wrong. It’s about choices.
Donald Trump is the wrong choice.
First, let’s start with the obvious:
1. 1f you are a woman, Donald Trump doesn’t care about you.
His 2005 comments about women have been well publicized and should be considered sexual assault.
Since then, Trump has dismissed those comments as “locker room talk.” He isn’t sorry.
But wait, there’s more. Jessica Leeds, Rachel Crooks and Natasha Stoynoff are just a few more women who have spoken up recently, claiming that they too were victims of sexual harassment from Trump.
And to make matters even worse, The Guardian reports that Trump is headed to New York district court in December. He is being accused by a Jane Doe of raping her when she was 13.
2. if you are a minority, Donald Trump doesn’t care about you.
He proudly supports New York’s “stop-and-frisk” policing tactic and incorrectly stated the murders increased when the strategy was curtailed by the New York Police Department in 2012. In 2013, stop-and-frisk was ruled unconstitutional. The tactic was well known as an enabler for racial profiling. According to NYPD data, about 90 percent of persons stopped via this method were young black or Latino males who hadn’t committed any crimes.
Donald Trump said that stop-and-frisk “had a tremendous impact on the safety of New York City.”
3. If you are black, white, purple or green, Donald Trump doesn’t care about you.
If you are an immigrant, he wants you out of the country. If you practice Islam, he thinks you should be screened for terroristic links. If you are a journalist, he wants to censor you.
Donald Trump is a populist. Whatever the flavor of the week is, that is what Trump sells. NBC News reports that Trump has shifted stances on his policies 117 times since he announced his intention to run for the presidency.
Donald Trump is also either a liar or grossly unprepared to serve as president. According to Politifact, Trump’s statements have been false 71 percent of the time.
And guess what, Trump’s business acumen, what supporters argue is his strongest attribute, has been up for serious debate. The Economist conducted an analysis of Trump’s business career this year and concludes that Trump’s performance has been “mediocre.” It is also widely believed by economists and analytics groups that the implementation of Trump’s economic policies would increase national debt by trillions of dollars and “significantly” weaken the US economy.
I am not saying to vote for Hillary Clinton, but let’s face the truth: Donald Trump isn’t fit to be president. Whoever you decide to vote for this election, I implore you to vote for someone who is qualified.
Don’t vote for a reality TV star.
Don’t make the wrong choice.
Don’t vote Trump.
